WOAC T Ball and Coach Pitch Program
The objective for the TBall and Ponyball program is for the boys to participate in coach assisted games that will be used to develop individual player skills in a non competitive and competitive environment respectively. The overall team objective is to score runs on the other team while preventing the opposition from scoring. The rules of the game are very simplified. Players should learn the values of teamwork and sportsmanship while developing their basic skills. Players will also learn the basic skills of the game including fielding, batting and throwing. Players will furthermore learn the basic concepts of defensive strategies, including learning the positions in the field. The primary skills to be taught as this age group shall include the following
Fielding Skills- including naming all positions, ready position for fielding, proper techniques for fielding balls, throws to proper bases
Hitting Skills- proper positions for alignment at the plate, proper technique for gripping the bat, and level swings to make proper contact
Running Skills- proper technique for running to 1st base, learning the order to run the bases, basic skills for situational running
Throwing skills- proper technique for throwing and catching the balls, throwing to a target, learning to step and throw while concentrating on catching the baseball
Spring Baseball Registration will begin on January 1st, 2022 Early Bird Signups will end on January 31st 2022 Midnight, EST.
